The Bei Ranch single vineyard is located half-way between Cazadero and Russian Gulch, where the Redwoods meet the vines and the Sonoma Coast Rainforest supplies pure spring water for irrigation. Hot summer days, fog cooled nights. Bei Ranch is an exquisite, rocky soiled, ridge-top vineyard (1,600 ft. elevation) on the Cazadero side of the North West Sonoma Coast mountain range.
Vintage Notes: 2018 was a beautiful year in Sonoma County. We had ideal growing weather throughout the season and into harvest. Warm but without heat spikes, and very consistent temperatures made this year one to remember.
Tasting Notes: Our 2018 Bei Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is such a gem. 2018 was a stellar vintage and we luckily did much of the aging for this wine for you. Deep red/purple in color, this wine is unctuous and rich right from the start. Aromas of dried black plums, blackberry fruit leather, a hint of raspberry coulis, earthy tanned leather, black tea leaves, and layer of baking spices. The palate is rich with all the fruit notes continuing plus layers of other complexities such as a hint of tobacco leaves, menthol and roasted black cherry. The tannins on this are lush but very present in the wine. Tasted 8 years after it’s vintage, this wine should age well for another 5+ years minimum.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes hand picked from Bei Ranch.
